Diary: Christmas Bazaar + Clare's weights

We missed a frost last night. Just damp and cold for the Church Bazaar in the Town Hall. We do a fast flyby. Buy marmalade, bread, some cakes. Inspect the books and buy a few novels. Finish with hot drinks and a mince pie. This year Clare did not directly engage with Santa. Then Waitrose.

The Carmelite motto:

"The motto of the Carmelite Order is: “Zelo zelatus sum pro Domino Deo exercituum.” This powerful expression is a direct quote of the words of Elijah from the First Book of Kings, 19:10: “With zeal have I been zealous for the Lord God of Hosts.”

I struggled with this at first, as I recalled being taught that Latin lacked the letter 'z'. Not entirely so.

Today's piece of family trivia. After yesterday evening's excitement, this morning found us at the town hall supporting the local Catholic Church Christmas Bazaar.
